1. Agreement and scope
EIG Holdings, Inc. and its affiliates, including EIG Claims Services, Inc., EIG Technology, Inc. and EIG Restoration (together, "EIG," "we," "our" or "us"), welcome you. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of:
- The Site. eigclaimsgroup.com and our former websites evansclaims.com, eig-claims.com and eigtechnology.com
- The customer portal. portal.home.eigtech.io
- First-contact video. the video session links we send to insureds by text or email
- The EIG Inspection Platform mobile app. used by adjusters and EIG teams in the field
Together these are the "Services." These Terms replace the prior EIG Claims Services Site Terms.
BY ACCESSING OR USING THE SERVICES, YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS AND ALL POLICIES INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE, INCLUDING OUR PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT USE THE SERVICES.
2. Carriers and other agreements
Insurance carriers, MGAs and programs that assign claims to EIG do so under a separate master services agreement ("MSA"). If these Terms conflict with an MSA, the MSA controls for that carrier and its staff. Independent adjusters, and contractors may also be bound by separate independent contractor or vendor agreements, which control where they conflict with these Terms. These Terms do not change any insurance policy or any other agreement you have with EIG.
3. Who uses the Services
The Services are used by homeowners and insureds, independent adjusters, field adjusters, EIG staff, carrier desk adjusters and claims staff, and EIG Restoration crews and contractors. Some features are available only to authorized users we have assigned to a claim. You may use only the features and claims you are authorized to access.
4. Accounts and security
Some Services require an account. You agree to provide true, accurate, current and complete information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your password and account confidential and for all activity under your account. Do not share your login or let anyone else use your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach.
We may suspend or terminate an account if information is inaccurate, if we suspect misuse, or if an assignment ends. We may provide account and usage records when required by law or lawful process, or to protect our rights, customers or business.
5. First-contact video and recording
When an insured joins a first-contact video session, an EIG team member will ask for verbal consent to record at the start of the call, and that consent is recorded. Because the inspection is required by your insurance carrier, it will still take place if you do not consent to being recorded. In that case, we will ask you to leave the area while our team completes the video inspection of the property, so that you are not recorded.
Recorded video, snapshots, audio and notes become part of the claim file. Please do not capture other people without their permission, and avoid showing sensitive items that are not related to the damage. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply.
6. Claim media and data
Video, photos, measurements, notes, estimates, reports and other information collected for a claim ("Claim Data") belong to the insurance carrier that assigned the claim. EIG collects, stores and processes Claim Data on the carrier’s behalf to handle the claim, perform quality review and meet legal and contractual obligations, as described in the carrier’s MSA and our Privacy Policy.
Requests to access, correct or delete Claim Data may be referred to the carrier that owns the claim file. Adjusters, staff and contractors may not download, copy, share or use Claim Data for any purpose other than the assigned claim.
7. Automated tools and AI
The EIG Inspection Platform uses automated tools, including AI, to generate draft estimates and scope suggestions and to transcribe and summarize calls. These outputs are drafts that support our people. They are not coverage, liability or payment decisions.
- Human review. A licensed adjuster reviews every automated estimate, scope suggestion and summary before it is used in any coverage or payment decision.
- Accuracy. Transcripts and summaries can contain errors. The recorded call and the adjuster’s final report are the record of what was said and documented.
- Decisions. Coverage decisions are made by the insurer under the applicable policy.
8. Mobile app license
If you are authorized to use the EIG Inspection Platform mobile app, EIG grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use it on a device you control, solely to perform your assigned work for EIG. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or create derivative works of the app, or use it for any other business. We may update the app or require updates to keep using it. Your license ends when your account or assignment ends. App store terms may also apply.
